But all of these things are based on a consumer mindset, focusing on "what the church can do for me," rather than "what I can do for the church." Today, I want to speak on what you can do for the church.

Pero todas estas cosas se basan en una mentalidad de consumidor, enfocada en “¿qué puede hacer la iglesia por mí?”, en lugar de “¿qué puedo hacer yo por la iglesia?”. Hoy quiero hablar sobre lo que tú puedes hacer por la iglesia.

1 Corintios 12:7–10, 28–307 Pero a cada uno le es dada la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho. 8 A uno se le da palabra de sabiduría... a otro, conocimiento... 9 fe, 10 sanidades, milagros, profecía... lenguas, interpretación... 28 Y a unos puso Dios en la iglesia: primeramente apóstoles, luego profetas, lo tercero maestros, luego milagros, dones de sanidades, ayudas, administraciones, diversos géneros de lenguas...

Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4 all highlight this diversity of gifts within the body of Christ. Some are called to teach, others to preach, some to lead worship, others to serve in practical ways. These gifts are not given for our personal aggrandizement. They are given for the common good, for building the body, and advancing God's Kingdom.

Romanos 12, 1 Corintios 12 y Efesios 4 destacan esta diversidad de dones dentro del cuerpo de Cristo. Algunos son llamados a enseñar, otros a predicar, unos a dirigir la alabanza, otros a servir en maneras prácticas. Estos dones no se nos dan para engrandecernos, sino para el bien común, para edificar el cuerpo y avanzar el Reino de Dios.

Each gift, no matter how small, is essential. We need the teachers and the greeters, the preachers and the childcare workers. Every role matters. All these diverse gifts are united by one purpose: to glorify God and make His name known.

Cada don, por pequeño que parezca, es esencial. Necesitamos a los maestros y a los que dan la bienvenida, a los predicadores y a los cuidadores de niños. Cada función importa. Todos estos dones diversos se unen por un solo propósito: glorificar a Dios y dar a conocer Su nombre.

God has placed you in this church for a reason. You have gifts and talents the church needs. Don’t have a consumer mindset. Ask, “What can I give? How can I serve?”

Dios te ha colocado en esta iglesia por una razón. Tienes dones y talentos que la iglesia necesita. No tengas una mentalidad de consumidor. Pregunta: “¿Qué puedo dar? ¿Cómo puedo servir?”

Ask your pastor for guidance. Seek God’s direction. Look for needs you can meet. Volunteer, even if not asked. Ministry complements your walk with God—it doesn’t replace it.

Pide orientación a tu pastor. Busca la dirección de Dios. Observa qué necesidades puedes suplir. Ofrécete como voluntario, incluso si no te lo piden. El ministerio complementa tu caminar con Dios—no lo reemplaza.

You cannot effectively serve without a servant’s heart. Jesus showed us in John 13 what true servanthood looks like.

No puedes servir efectivamente sin un corazón de siervo. Jesús nos mostró en Juan 13 cómo se ve el verdadero servicio.

Consider a baseball team. Each position is different—pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders—but all are necessary. The same is true in church. Our roles are different, but the mission is the same.

Considera un equipo de béisbol. Cada posición es distinta—lanzadores, receptores, jugadores de cuadro y de campo exterior—pero todos son necesarios. Lo mismo sucede en la iglesia. Nuestros roles son diferentes, pero la misión es la misma.

Romans 12:4–5 says, “For just as in one body we have many members... so we, though many, are one body in Christ.” A team with only pitchers wouldn’t win games. A church with only one gift wouldn’t thrive.

Romanos 12:4–5 dice: “Pues de la manera que en un cuerpo tenemos muchos miembros... así nosotros, siendo muchos, somos un cuerpo en Cristo.” Un equipo con solo lanzadores no ganaría juegos. Una iglesia con un solo don no prosperaría.

If one role is weak or missing, the whole team suffers. A star player can’t carry a broken team. Same with the church—every gift must work together for impact.

Si un rol es débil o falta, todo el equipo sufre. Una estrella no puede llevar a un equipo roto. Lo mismo ocurre en la iglesia—todos los dones deben trabajar juntos para hacer impacto.

Teams practice, plan, and support each other. This unity makes them strong. In church, we do the same—build each other up to win spiritual victories.

Los equipos entrenan, planean y se apoyan mutuamente. Esa unidad los hace fuertes. En la iglesia hacemos lo mismo—nos edificamos mutuamente para ganar victorias espirituales.

Like in basketball, the shooter needs the pass, the center needs space. Success comes from unity, not just talent. YOU SERVE HERE.

Como en el baloncesto, el que lanza necesita el pase, el centro necesita espacio. El éxito viene de la unidad, no solo del talento. TÚ SIRVES AQUÍ.
